Next, drop chlorine dioxide tablets (sold separately) into the water so that they will dissolve and create a liquid chlorine dioxide solution. Place the aerator hose into the chlorine dioxide solution and turn on the aerator. Exit the vehicle.
After 20 minutes have passed, open and start the car. Having the car running like this—with the air conditioning turned on—will allow the chlorine dioxide gas to circulate throughout the vent system. Let the car run for 20 minutes.
After that time has elapsed, roll the car windows down and let the vehicle air out for about 20 minutes. At this point, if all of the preceding steps have been followed correctly, you’ll notice that the auto odor eliminator has effectively removed bothersome smells from the vehicle.
