Choose a Continuous Flotation System from Beckart Environmental
Beckart Environmental can supply a continuous flotation system that will effectively treat wastewater that contains free-floating or emulsified oils, dissolved heavy metals, surfactants, soaps, and many other contaminants. Plus, because our Induced Air Flotation (IAF) and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems can handle flow rates of 10 GPM to 1,000 GPM, they are an excellent choice for high-volume facilities.
When you reach out to us, we’ll create a custom continuous flotation system for your specific needs. However, these systems generally work as follows:
- A pump will transfer your wastewater into an equalization tank, where a blower will release air bubbles to maintain homogeneity in the water, preventing the settling of solids.
- The wastewater will then move from the equalization tank into the reaction and mix tank, where a chemical feed system will apply pH neutralization chemicals and coagulants as needed, and a mixer will help distribute the chemicals evenly throughout the wastewater.
- In the next tank, called an aeration tank, pumps will release microbubbles that will attach themselves to the floc, so the floc will rise to the surface of the tank for collection.
- A sludge skimmer will remove sludge from the surface of the tank, and clarified water will exit the tank separately.
- The sludge will then transfer to a filter press that will retain solids while allowing water to exit through discharge channels, so you can easily gather the dry sludge cake for disposal.
